THE HOME PROJECT

THE HOME PROJECT

THE HOME PROJECT

The Home Project brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, educators, community members, and designers to explore the meaning of home through storytelling, culture, and creative expression.

The project formed the foundation of Interface's Upon Common Ground collection, demonstrating how genuine collaboration and shared learning can create meaningful outcomes for both community and design.

Through The Home Project, we:

  • Engaged with First Nations students and communities
  • Created a platform for young voices to influence design
  • Transformed community stories into the Upon Common Ground collection
  • Established a framework for ongoing Indigenous engagement, education, and collaboration
