Carbon Neutral Floors™
Take one bold step to reducing your carbon footprint.
The flooring products that we sell including carpet tile, LVT and nora® rubber are carbon neutral across their full product life cycle through our third party verified Carbon Neutral Floors™ program. And we calculate your floor’s impact so you can see its contribution to reducing global warming.

Our journey to
carbon neutral floors
In 2003, we began offering carbon neutral flooring by offsetting the full life cycle of greenhouse gas emissions for carpet tiles across North and South America.
In 2018, we expanded the program across our product catalog—and the globe—by including all global sales of carpet tiles and LVT, and added nora rubber products in 2019. Since 2003, we have sold more than 454 million square yards (379 million square meters) of carbon neutral flooring globally, and we have retired approximately 5.3 million metric tons of verified emission reduction credits - all while reducing the carbon footprint of our carpet tile products by over 74% since 1996.
Embodied carbon
Since 1996, we’ve reduced the embodied carbon footprint of our carpet tile product by 74% by changing how we design and make our products through the use of recycled materials, dematerialization and improved manufacturing efficiencies. Then, through our Carbon Neutral Floors program, compensating for what we still can't avoid with carbon offsets from renewable energy, fuel switching and reforestation projects.
Global warming impacts everyone.
When you specify flooring products from Interface, you’re selecting carpet tile, LVT and nora rubber that is carbon neutral across its full product life cycle. To compensate for the full life cycle carbon emissions that we are unable to eliminate, we purchase carbon offsets. The carbon offset projects we purchase are validated and verified according to internationally known standards and are retired on third-party registries. This assures that the carbon credits we use are real (have happened), additional (beyond business-as-usual activities), measurable and permanent. Types of projects we support with our carbon offsets:
