Leading the charge for greener buildings.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system developed and administered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to certify the environmental performance of buildings. Building projects can earn points to achieve different levels of LEED certification (Platinum, Gold, Silver or Certified) by documenting sustainable choices made in building design, material selection and building operations.
Interface has partnered with the USGBC and its LEED Rating System for more than two decades to grow the market for green buildings and products. Interface staff have served as USGBC Board Chair on two occasions and have sat on numerous USGBC committees over the years. Also, USGBC presents the Ray Anderson Award for Radical Industrialism each year at Greenbuild to honor the legacy of our founder Ray Anderson.
LEED v4 and Interface
With the recent overhaul of the LEED standard (LEED v4), Interface welcomes a new era of transparency and data-driven performance in green building design. All our products are suitable for LEED projects, but see the chart below for an overview of the exact credits Interface products can contribute to in LEED v4.
