Green Star - Best Practice for PVC Concerns about the environmental and health impacts of PVC building products led to the development of the PVC Best Practice Guidelines by the Green Building Council of Australia under its Green Star programme, which “assesses the sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings, fitouts and communities”. A credit can be earned within Green Star when the PVC products used meet the Best Practice Guidelines. Interface products made in Australia have been assessed and verified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance to comply with the Green Building Council of Australia’s Best Environmental Practice PVC.

Environmental Certification Scheme (ECS) – Level 4 The Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS) is a national carpet grading scheme. An extension of this is the Environmental Certification Scheme (ECS), which offers guidance on the environmental performance of carpet.
Among other things, ECS-certified carpet manufacturers must adhere to a code of practice that details performance standards for raw materials, manufacturing, in-service use and end-of-life treatment.
The ECS has four levels of certification – ECS Level 4 is the top grading. Our products are classified ECS Level 4.

Global GreenTag's GreenRate certification – Level A Global GreenTag’s GreenRate certification is a product rating system recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It has been set up to meet the criteria of the Green Star® “Sustainable Products” credits. Interface carpet tiles backed with CushionBac®RE are certified “Level A”.

The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) Green Label Plus The Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Plus programme sets a high standard for indoor air quality by certifying products with very low levels of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. As a prerequisite for initial certification, carpets must undergo a 14-day testing process as directed by California's Section 01350 Standard Practice for VOC Testing.

GREENGUARD Gold Certification Products awarded the GREENGUARD Gold Certification by UL Environment are subject to advanced dynamic environmental chamber testing, along with exposure modelling and analytical measurements, to ensure they do not contain more than stipulated levels of VOCs, formaldehyde, ozone and phthalates. The certification tests for suitability of the use of these products by sensitive individuals such as children and the elderly. Our tiles backed with GlasBac® and GlasBac®RE are GREENGUARD Gold certified.

GreenPro Ecolabel GreenPro is a third-party labelling programme developed by the Confederation of Indian Industry in India and recognised by the Global Ecolabelling Network. Scored against multiple criteria including Product Design, Product Performance, Raw Materials, Manufacturing Process, Waste Management, Life Cycle Approach, Product Stewardship and Innovation, GreenPro-labelled products emit fewer air pollutants, are free of prohibited substances and offer proven product and environmental performance. Carpet tiles bearing the GreenPro Ecolabel are recognised as Green (Type I Ecolabelled) products by the Government of Malaysia and Thailand Environment Institute.

Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) Interface Vietnam is a member of the VGBC, which was established in 2007 with the aim of raising awareness and build capacity for the development of green buildings in Vietnam. The VGBC developed LOTUS, a collection of market-based green building rating tools developed for the Vietnamese built environment that are based on internationally-recognised green building rating systems such as LEED and BREEAM. Products listed in the VGBC’s green database are recognised to be environmentally friendly. The VGBC is a Prospective Member of the World Green Building Council.
