Hard floor, soft sound

We may have different views on what makes the perfect work environment, but we can all agree that unwanted noise isn't part of the equation. One of the best ways to mitigate the effect of noise in indoor environments is through flooring. With carpet this is obvious because we intuitively know that soft surfaces are quieter.

So, when we added LVT to our modular flooring system, we developed it with an integrated Sound Choice™ acoustic backing as a standard for all our LVT styles, allowing for improved acoustic without the addition of costly underlays or extended lead times for special products.

The Sound Choice backing means Interface LVT significantly outperforms other standard hard surface flooring options such as vinyl composition tile (VCT) and polished concrete, particularly through its ability to reduce impact sounds such as footsteps or dropped objects.

Our efforts have been awarded by Quiet Mark, an international programme for excellence in low-noise technology and solutions to unwanted noise, associated with the U.K. Noise Abatement Society. Quiet Mark encourages companies worldwide to prioritise noise reduction within the design of everyday products, machines and appliances, providing consumers and industry with a trusted mark of approval to help transform the aural environment for the benefit of all.
