Sustainable Products for Green Buildings ANZ

Interface was the first flooring company in Australia to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all our product categories. We believe Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the single most important tool for evaluating the environmental impacts of our products and that the LCA-based Environmental Product Declarations are the best way to provide full disclosure of those impacts to our customers. Through the EPDs, you can feel confident that our products are environmentally sound and your use of them contributes to your own sustainability goals.

For certifications specifically recognised in Australia and New Zealand, Interface modular carpets are certified to the Global GreenTag GreenRate Level A, and to ECS Level 4 (2 options) under the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme. These certifications apply to all carpets manufactured by Interface in Australia, Thailand and China.

Our EPDs, ratings and certifications can help you achieve full points towards Green Buildings under Green Star®* Materials Calculators and Best Practice Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Credits. As Interface carpets are a low-emitting Volative Organic Compound (VOC) product, and our glueless TacTiles system further reduces VOC levels, you can also receive Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) credits for VOC and Formaldehyde Minimisation.

Green Star tools are approved by the Green Buiding Councils of Australia and New Zealand. A Green Star rating provides independent verification that a building or community project is sustainable. Developed by the Green Building Council of Australia, Green Star is Australia's only national, voluntary, sustainability rating system for buildings and communities. As of 2015, there are 14 million square metres of Green Star-certified space around Australia, including over 1.35 million square metres of commercial and residential interiors.
